OVA at AOY Awards

Along with other nominees, OVA athlete Steph Stigwood featured at the recent Athletics Tasmania Athlete of the Year awards winning three event categories.

The OVA Southern Saints wish to congratulate Steph on both her achievements in season 2015-16, as well as her recognition as the Open Female Athlete of the Year, Out Of Stadium and In Stadium Distance/Walks Female Athlete of the Year.

Many other OVA members featured in the afternoon, particularly highlighted by long serving club coach and committee member Rosemary Coleman being awarded the President's Awards for the 2015-16 season.

Other nominated athletes attended the event, including Henri Norton and Dusty Rankin who have recently been selected in the team heading to Fiji next month for the Oceania Championships. We had a strong female representation at the event also including Lucy Carter, Anna Blackwell, Alice Randall and Lydia Attril, who were all nominated respectively and were kept in line by Club President Nathan Morey.

All attendees had a great afternoon and enjoyed some fine food and drink at the high tea styled event. This caps off both the OVA AGM and Awards afternoon, as well as the Athletics South AGM and Awards evening which also featured OVA athletes.
