OVA Decathlon Team

Ahead of Wednesday night's Athletics South team decathlon, the OVA Southern Saints have released their final team.

The OVA team features a strong team of twenty athletes in the decathlon itself. Off the back off successful school carnivals on the track, Lilly Castle and Maddy Scott have been selected for the 100m and 400m events respectively and will look to have solid hit outs off the back of some quality training. Counterparts to the girls are Jacob Despard and Henri Norton - Henri has recently returned from his Australian nationals campaign which saw him run sub-50 second 400m's in consecutive races.

All 1,000m and 3,000m runners for the OVA team have been regularly competing this season also, with Rebecca Revill achieving some great success under coach Susan Andrews, meanwhile Lockie Bromfiled - who has shown his talents over the steeple chase - has also enjoyed a change of scenery coaching wise and continues to develop under coach Sam Morey.

Backing up from last years success in the field is Luke Whitney, who surprised everyone with his ability to throw a Javelin. Having achieved a PB in recent weeks in the Long Jump, Grace Jacobson will be one to watch as she also continues to improve. Kaela Beechey has also flown under the radar in season 2015, but regularly features in breaking new club records on a monthly basis.

The decathlon kicks off from 6:00pm on Wednesday the 13th December with some Masters and Little Athletics Events, with the seniors competition starting at 7:00pm.
