The club is very proud of female athlete Maddy Scott, who made the final of her 400m at the Oceania Championships this week, and ran an amazing PB to take bronze in the final.Maddy ran a blistering 57.88s in her heat early Wednesday morning for us here in Tasmania, where she won by almost two seconds.
As the image shows, the conditions were very trying. She backed up in the final to run even quicker, 56.56s, and place third behind two other Australians. Running quicker the next day is a tough ask for any athlete, and speaks to Maddy’s character as an athlete.
All members of the OVA Southern Saints send their congrats to Maddy and the Tassie team – especially those below who left their support for Maddy via our comments section below. There have been some other great results for Tasmanian athletes, so keep up to date via the OVA Southern Saints Facebook page or at the Athletics Tas website.
The club is excited to announce our first Quiz Night for the season is on the 21st December.
