Start of Season Wrap

Courtesy of Club President Nathan Morey is a wrap up of what the OVA Southern Saints have been up to over the past few weeks.

INTERCLUB

The OVA Southern Saints were incredibly well represented at last Thursday's mid-week interclub, across almost all the events... So thank you for making the day great!!  It was great having the tent finally set up, it created a great atmosphere all morning. We also achieved success (but also a whole lot of fun) in the relays, taking 1st place in every relay division both male and female! There were also plenty of smiles, and some big PB's for some of our new and existing members - thank you again team OVA!  Results from last week are attached.

Reminder to all athletes that registration numbers are now available and must worn on both your chest and your back.

QLAC

Saturday morning, OVA Southern Saints members Sam, Lilly, Jacob, Dom, Denise and myself had a blast lending a hand at the Queenborough Little Athletics Centre meet at the Domain.  It’s hoped that we can have different faces coming up to help.  If you are keen to help out one Saturday morning please let me know, we will be heading up again on the 7th November.

ALL SCHOOLS

This coming weekend is the Tasmanian All Schools Track and Field Championships. The Tasmanian All Schools Track and Field meet is open to school athletes aged 10-17 years (as at 31 December 2015).

This year's Meet will be the official selection trials for the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships to be held in Melbourne December 4th-6th (for U14, U16 & U18 athletes), as well as the School Sport Australia Primary Track and Field Championships in Canberra from 4th-8th December (for athletes aged 10, 11 & 12 years).  If you haven’t yet entered, can you please do so on the Athletics Tasmania website.

A note from the President: Although only a few days away, the OVA Southern Saints are working with Athletics Tasmania to resolve the nomination application process which is currently not available online. We're looking forward to getting this sorted, and will endeavour to update our members with any information as soon as we hear it. We thank everybody for their patience, and hope to see many OVA Southern Saints faces represented across both the Primary and Junior teams #goOVA.
